Ärjän taidefestivaali 24.-26.7.2026!

Ekologisia teemoja ja esittävää taidetta Ärjänsaaressa Oulujärvellä

Ärjän taidefestivaali on retkeilevä ja roskaton nykytaiteen tapahtuma, joka toteutetaan Ärjänsaaren luonnonsuojelualueen ehdoilla ja kokonaisuudessaan ulkona. Festivaalin ytimessä on maapallon tulevaisuus. Taide ja festivaalin käytännöt kietoutuvat ekologisten teemojen ympärille.

Järjestyksessään kuudennella Ärjän taidefestivaalilla koetaan kansainvälistä ja kotimaista taidetta teatterista ja tanssista musiikkiin ja nykytaiteeseen. Festivaalin teema on tänä vuonna “Valoa ja vastarintaa”.

Vuoden 2026 festivaali on osa Oulu2026 kulttuuripääkaupunkivuotta, jonka ohjelmaan Ärjän taidefestivaali on valittu. Rohkeasti reunalla eläminen sekä taiteen ja luonnon yhdistäminen ovat Oulu2026 pääteemoja. Asioita, jotka toteutuvat Ärjän taidefestivaalilla syvällisellä tavalla.

Ekologisten teemojen ja esittävän taiteen ympärille kiertyvä Ärjän taidefestivaali järjestetään joka toinen vuosi Ärjänsaaressa Oulujärvellä. Tapahtuman tavoitteena on löytää tuoreita yhteisöllisiä muotoja kohdata maapalloamme koettelevia muutoksia.

Ecological themes and performing arts on Ärjänsaari Island, Lake Oulujärvi

The Ärjä Art Festival is an itinerant, zero-waste contemporary art event held entirely outdoors and organized on the terms of the Ärjänsaari nature reserve. At the heart of the festival lies the future of our planet. Art and festival practices are closely intertwined with ecological themes.

Now in its sixth edition, the Ärjä Art Festival presents both international and Finnish art, ranging from theatre and dance to music and contemporary art. This year’s theme is “Light and Resistance.”

The 2026 festival is part of Oulu2026, the European Capital of Culture year, whose official program includes the Ärjä Art Festival. Living boldly on the edge and combining art and nature are among the core themes of Oulu2026—ideas that are realized in a profound way at the Ärjä Art Festival.

Centered on ecological themes and performing arts, the Ärjä Art Festival is held every other year on Ärjänsaari Island in Lake Oulujärvi. The aim of the event is to discover new, communal ways of engaging with the changes challenging our planet.

The program for the 2026 festival will be announced in February 2026.

The festival is organized by the Vaara Collective from Kajaani.
